Drag and drop Root Launcher on your Desktop

If you need to open up a document or activate a program as root, here is a quick method of doing so. Right-click your desktop and create a launcher with the following command.

gksudo "gnome-open" %u

Then, select your icon and you are off and running. Drag and drop a document or program onto the icon and it will open up as root.
