Testing WordPress 3.0 Beta with screenshots

8 April 2010 No Comment

WordPress 3.0 early Beta (download here) will incorporate several new features that will enhance our day to day blogging life. The first of which changes the ugly default themes with a white theme. You also have the ability to customize this theme by changing the header image, background, and other cool options.

Another more complex option that you will find in WP3.0 early Beta is the ability to host multiple blogs. Although this feature requires some tooling, it will be ready upon release of the stable version. Check out the instructions for creating a multiple blog network here: http://codex.wordpress.org/User:Andrea/Create_A_Network.

I really like the multiple blog feature. It has been a major missing point in the WP releases that I have enjoyed on other blogging platforms such as PivotX. I suspect that plugin development for the new version will have some difficulty with the multiple blog feature. What if I wanted a plugin active on one blog but not the other? Yeah, you get it. For now, check out some screenshots from the install.
