Verizon MiFi
The Verizon MiFi is a portable wireless access point that provides up to five users a 30 foot bubble of internet connectivity. You use it just like the wireless access points in your home. But, without the large footprint. Take it on the train with you, the plane, or whatever. These gadgets will cost $100 after rebate with data plans beginning at $40/month for 250MB. Two other plan options are available. You can transfer up to 5GB for $60/month or have 24 hours of access for $15. The advertised connection speed is 1MB down and 500kb. I suspect that if you wait a bit, that will change for the better.
Verizon is slated to release the MiFi on 17 May 2009. The battery will last you 4 hours of continuous use or 40 hours of standby. But let’s face it, who wants to standby with this wonderful beauty? The downside of the device is that it will not function outside of the U.S. Created by Novatel.
