Web Browser usage statistics

2 January 2010 No Comment

According to Market Share, Google’s chrome OS has popped Apple’s Safari out of the #3 position for web browser usage. The query was run for statistics on all operating systems with returned results valid for December 2009. The displacement of Safari by Chrome only varies by 0.17%, however it marks a 0.7% increase in usage since Chrome was launched in September of 2008. The market share increase of Chrome is likely linked to the release of the Mac and Linux Beta versions of Chrome released last month. I switched over from Firefox 3.5 to Chrome for Linux when it came out. As a hardcore Linux user, Chrome brought a fresh, new, and functional browser to Linux. The main Linux browsers include Konquorer and Firefox.
